Policy for the Use of the IEMT Logos by IEMT Practitioners

The Association for IEMT Practitioners.
The policy will be formally enacted on 1 February 2026.

1. Purpose of This Policy

This policy sets out the conditions under which the official Integral Eye Movement Technique (IEMT) logos may be used by practitioners.

It exists to protect the integrity, reputation, and intellectual property of the IEMT brand, and to ensure its use is consistent, lawful, and in line with national and industry standards for trademark protection, ethical marketing, and professional conduct.

2. Ownership and Copyright

All IEMT logos, marks, graphics, and associated branding elements (“the IEMT Logos”) are the exclusive intellectual property of The Association for IEMT Practitioners.
They are protected under UK and international copyright and trademark law.
No individual or organisation may reproduce, modify, distribute, or otherwise use any IEMT Logo without explicit permission granted under this policy.

3. Eligibility to Use the IEMT Logo

Use of the IEMT Logos is a membership-bound professional privilege.

Only the following individuals may display the IEMT Logos:

  1. Certified IEMT Practitioners who
    • have successfully completed recognised IEMT training, and
    • hold an active, fully paid membership with The Association for IEMT Practitioners.
  2. Certified IEMT Trainers and Supervisors are subject to the same membership requirements.

3.1 Lapsed, Suspended, or Terminated Membership

If a practitioner’s membership expires, is suspended, or is terminated for any reason:

  • All permissions to use the IEMT Logos immediately cease.
  • The former member must remove the logo from all online and offline materials within 14 days, including but not limited to websites, social media, business cards, printed materials, email signatures, and advertising.
  • Continued use after cessation may result in legal action for trademark infringement.

4. Approved and Prohibited Uses

4.1 Approved Uses

Active members may use the IEMT Logo for professional purposes, including:

  • Practitioner websites (personal or organisational).
  • Business cards, brochures, and printed marketing.
  • Professional social media pages.
  • Course listings or practitioner directories approved by the Association.

All uses must:

  • Be accurate and not misleading.
  • Avoid implying that the practitioner holds accreditation or qualifications they do not.
  • Comply with the Association’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.

4.2 Prohibited Uses

The IEMT Logo must not be used:

  • In connection with any service, modality, or practice that contradicts the ethical, scientific, or professional standards of the Association.
  • In any context that suggests endorsement of unrelated or unapproved therapeutic systems.
  • On merchandise or commercial products without explicit written approval.

Use that brings the IEMT brand into disrepute is strictly forbidden.

5. Use of the IEMT Logo Alongside Other Therapeutic Brand Logos

To protect the clarity, integrity, and public trust of the IEMT brand:

  1. The IEMT Logo must not be displayed alongside other therapeutic or modality logos without prior written consent from the Association.
  2. This restriction includes, but is not limited to, modalities known to be scientifically unverified, ethically problematic, or associated with misinformation (e.g., “German New Medicine”).
  3. Use alongside another brand, logo, or system does not imply automatic compatibility or approval, regardless of the practitioner’s personal training.
  4. Over time, the Association will develop and publish an Approved Compatibility List, identifying therapeutic brands considered suitable for co-branding.
    • Practitioners may request a review of a modality or logo for inclusion.
    • Until listed, permission must be sought for each instance of co-branding.

6. Visual Standards and Brand Integrity

To maintain professional consistency, any use of the IEMT Logo must be:

  • Unaltered in shape, colour, proportion, and layout.
  • Displayed at a resolution ensuring clarity and legibility.
  • Free from overlays, distortions, filters, or aesthetic modifications.
  • Surrounded by adequate clear space.

Practitioners may not create imitational or revised versions of the logo.

7. Digital Use Requirements

When using the IEMT Logo online:

  • It must link to either the practitioner’s personal IEMT profile page or the official Association website.
  • It may not be embedded in misleading SEO strategies, keyword stuffing, or deceptive marketing practices.

AI-generated composites or placements are only permitted if the logo remains unmodified and its use adheres to this policy.

8. Enforcement and Misuse

The Association reserves the right to:

  • Request immediate removal of any improper or non-compliant logo usage.
  • Suspend or terminate a practitioner’s membership for serious or repeated breaches.
  • Pursue legal remedies in cases of copyright or trademark infringement.

Failure to comply may also affect eligibility for future certification or roles within the Association.

9. Requesting Permission for Logo Use

Practitioners seeking permission to use the logo alongside another therapeutic brand and/or clarification on whether a use is compliant can contact the Association directly via associationforiemt@gmail.com

Requests should include:

  • Purpose of the usage,
  • Context or location of display,
  • Any relevant supporting materials (e.g., other brand logos involved).

10. Review and Amendments

This policy will be periodically reviewed to ensure compliance with evolving legal standards, branding practices, and the professional landscape of psychological and therapeutic services.
Updates will be published to members, and continued use of the logo set requires adherence to the most current version.
