The Association for IEMT Practitioners at the 6 Regiment Army Air Corps Business Breakfast
This week, The Association for IEMT Practitioners was proudly represented at the 6 Regiment Army Air Corps Business Breakfast at RNAS Yeovilton by Leanne Jones. The event brought together an inspiring mix of military personnel, employers, charities, and support organisations dedicated to the well-being of serving and former members of the armed forces.
Arriving early on base, Leanne was welcomed by military staff and guided into a packed networking room of nearly a hundred attendees. The atmosphere was warm, open, and full of purpose. Many organisations present were charities supporting ex-service personnel and their families, along with NHS engagement teams and community partners committed to veteran welfare.
During the networking session, IEMT drew considerable interest with attendees fascinated to learn about the Association, its training standards, and the ways IEMT supports emotional health, trauma resolution, and identity-based work. Business cards were exchanged, and many were directed to the Association website to learn more.
A full cooked breakfast gave further opportunity for conversation, with guests from Devon and military-related charities offering strong connections and shared values. The morning’s keynote session was delivered by two reservists, highlighting the vital role of the Armed Forces Covenant and the Employer Recognition Scheme. Their insights into leadership, teamwork, and the benefits that reservists bring to civilian organisations were both informative and energising.
The morning concluded with a unique opportunity: a guided tour of the aviation zone at Yeovilton. Guests were taken into the hangars to explore the Wildcat helicopter up close, a rare chance to see the aircraft, equipment, and engineering excellence behind Army Air Corps aviation. The experience was a clear highlight, offering an exciting glimpse into a world few civilians ever see.
We are delighted to have had a positive and professional presence at this event. It opened new conversations about mental health, trauma support, and innovative therapeutic approaches for those who serve. It also strengthened our commitment as a Bronze Award signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant and our ongoing engagement with military-related organisations.
Our sincere thanks go to Leanne for attending, sharing IEMT with enthusiasm, and building new bridges in the South West. With such a strong reception and interest, we look forward to further opportunities to connect IEMT with veteran and armed forces communities.
