A good reminder about the need to cut down unnecessary chat and keep things direct and simple!
I accept the challenge! Thanks very much for this brilliant reminder; always so helpful (for me) to understand the why behind the what.
Great reminder! Thank you! Would love to hear also about identity work.
Great video. Excellent reminder. I find the less chitchat on my end, the more people’s patterns of chronicity come out.
Hi Andy
this is a great review/reminder and i like the clarification about – the difference between (starting) feeling state and the imprint (visual) memory related to it.
In terms of the underlying theory/model of WHY moving the eyes brings about change in a memory and the beginning problematic feeling state – how does IEMT explain that? EMDR has a number of (theoretical ideas about that – duel attention, overloading of the working memory etc) – but what is the IEMT angle on how change occurs by moving the eyes? As surely if moving the eyes affected memory/traumas we move our eyes all days long so why doesn’t the everyday moving of the eyes treat underlying problematic memories? thanks. ,
In all reality, I don’t know. There’s lots of theories in the literature of what is going on but I’m not aware of a definitive explanation yet.
Excellent as always. Thank you, Andrew.
Great precise recap.
Hi Andy,
Many come in with the state of anxiety which is a state and not a feeling. Am I to probe to try to define the feeling, or by asking when was the first time you experience this will take them to their feeling and the memory?
With anxiety, review the three pillars model with the client.
